Why am I sad, and why is it your fault?  I'll tell you why: It’s because this page is empty. The picture above is just a photo of my friends and I, not my rock star team and I. Your picture is not here! Your bio is not here! YOU'RE NOT HERE! This page should be full of a great team of professionals that can wake up everyday, and in all honesty, tell their clients that this doesn't feel like work at all. I love what I do.

 

In case you couldn’t tell by now by looking around on the website, or from stalking my Facebook/Instagram page, I love to look good. Appearance is important to me. My mother taught me at a young age not to leave the house any kind of way, and I choose what I represent. Well, that has spilled over into my entire life, and excellence became a standard and not a goal. Yes, I have no problem showing up anywhere suited, with heels, with my hair, nails, and makeup done, looking like an executive because that’s how I feel comfortable looking. I gravitate to places that fit my style—highly structured, ultra-professional spas built to ensure the utmost relaxation for every client. Those type of environments attract certain types of coworkers, beauty workers who value order, teamwork, and professionalism, those who take their career seriously and show up to build everyday. Those are my people!

I'm starting from scratch. Building from the ground up with a vision that is bigger than me. All that means is that I CAN NOT DO IT ALONE! So here's another question. Do you hold a valid cosmetology, nail technology, esthetician, massage therapy license in the state of Michigan? Are you looking for anything like what I've described? Our ideal candidate will have an active occupational license in good standing and will share our strong commitments to promptness, professionalism, and client safety.

Why should you come work with us? Plenty of reasons! LaTresha Rená Salon and Spa is owned and managed by LaTresha Reed, a management executive and licensed cosmetologist (of 15 years). Dual bachelors in Business Management and International Business. Holding a master's degree in Business Management and a Ph.D. student (in business of course), LaTresha has managed multi-million dollar companies, multi-department staffs, and is a fierce advocate for the rights of beauty workers. She is looking to build something that is quite different from what you’re probably used to.

·         I strongly believe beauty professional should spend their time at work doing what they love, with the support of someone who knows business and is looking to help them grow.

·         I am looking to hear from you to know what you need and also provide you with things you may want.

·         You won't be left to yourself: Trainings, protocols, support, furnished work environment, you name it!

Hair Stylist
Description:  Primary role is to assist clients in achieving their goals for hair design, color, style, and the ability to maintain their look in between salon visits.
​
Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as full-time technical assistant or stylist
  • Graduate of Cosmetology School, and licensed as cosmetologist in Michigan.
  • Successful demonstration of cutting and chemical services skills to meet Stylist proficiency level.
  • Demonstration of ability to communicate effectively with clients and with the salon staff.
  • Self-starter with clear commitment to personal growth including participation in on-going education.
  • Professional presentation and commitment to personal grooming consistent with vision of the Salon and our clients.
  • Detail-orientated and patient.​
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Nail Technician
Description: Primary role is to perform manicures and pedicures in accordance with our service protocols. Our nail specialists are expected to prepare their stations prior to each service and break them down afterwards by removing visible debris, disposing of trash, placing soiled towels into the hamper, disinfecting the surfaces, and pre-cleaning the used implements with soap and water.
​
Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as full-time technical assistant or nail technician
  • State manicurist/cosmetologist license.
  • Providing high-quality manicures and pedicures, which includes removing old nail polish from fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and applying new polish based on clients’ preferences.
  • Applying artificial nails.
  • Recommending various nail designs and nail art to clients.
  • Evaluating the condition of clients’ nails and advising them on proper nail care and suitable nail care treatments.
  • Sanitizing all nail instruments and equipment before each use.
  • Ensuring that workstations are kept clean and orderly.
  • Ensuring that nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked.
  • Providing quality hand and foot massages.
  • Detail-orientated and patient.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Esthetician/ Make-up Artist
Description: Primary role is to consult with clients to assess their requirements, make informed recommendations and explain services, assist them to select appropriate treatments, and ensure their care and satisfaction. The Esthetician will ensure treatments start and end on time. You will maintain knowledge to promote and sell services and retail products. You will ensure work areas are clean and tidy, equipment is sanitized and linens are clean at all times, and treat clients in a courteous and empathetic manner.

Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • State licensure to practice as an Esthetician.
  • 3+ years industry experience.
  • Proficient in performing all applicable treatments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding people skills, warm and friendly mannerism.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.

Massage Therapist
Description: Primary role is to treat clients by using touch to manipulate the muscles and other soft tissues of the body. With their touch, therapists relieve pain, help heal injuries, improve circulation, relieve stress, increase relaxation, and aid in the general wellness of clients.

Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • Experience working in a spa or therapy center environment preferred
  • 2+ years' experience as a professional massage therapist
  • Proficient knowledge of reflexology, Swedish, prenatal, hot stone, trigger point, sports, and deep tissue massage
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional computer skills
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to keep a well-groomed, professional appearance
  • Ability to perform massages on diverse clients

Business Intern
Description:  Primary role is to help the company increase sales through lead generation, marketing, and other  strategies.
​
Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • Identifying and contacting prospective customers or partner companies
  • Promoting the business online and via word-of-mouth
  • Creating client proposals and contracts
  • Gain valuable work experience and skills to start your career in business development
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and sales skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Studying or have recently obtained a business or marketing degree
  • Conduct a variety of general administrative tasks as assigned
  • Assist with processing mail, bookkeeping, data entry and office supplies requests
  • Assist with archiving, storage management, and in-house event planning

  • Train and orient new interns in general office procedures
  • Greet guests and the general public; answer and route phone calls

Salon Assistant
Description:  Primary role is to support the hair design stylists with client preparation, chemical applications, equipment and station readiness, and other needs as required to ensure efficient operation and total customer
satisfaction. The assistant anticipates the stylists’ needs, having materials and equipment ready in advance.

Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • Graduate of Beauty Academy with a minimum of 300 hours hands-on experience.
  • Successful demonstration (in-salon) of shampooing, conditioning and color applications, and perm roller insertions.
  • Demonstration of ability to communicate effectively with clients and with the salon staff.
  • Self-starter with clear commitment to personal growth, including participation in on-going education.
  • Professional presentation and commitment to personal grooming consistent with vision of the salon and our clients.
  • Ability to train others as potential replacement in order to advance as a stylist

Receptionist
Description: Primary role is to receive customers into the salon and schedule appointments for the stylists and technicians.
​
Experience & Skills Requirement:
  • High School graduate
  • Successful demonstration of computer skills, including typing and following of instructions.
  • Demonstration of ability to communicate effectively with clients and with the salon staff.
  • Self-starter with clear commitment to personal growth, including participation in on-going education.
  • Professional presentation and commitment to personal grooming consistent with vision of the Salon and our clients
  • Ability to train others as potential replacement to either advance into the cosmetology field or as an Administrative Assistant.
